Jana Jacob portrays people in the most natural habitat: On their sofas.
Beeing home and finally letting go, people cast off their selfie ready faces to just be who they are. Jana Jacob stays with her models to get a shot at that very moment. Frontal photographs are the outline for her acrylic paintings. The portraits transport first and foremost the artists perception of the models mood. Jana Jacob relentlessly examines peoples expressions in a somewhat unforgiving manner. The turnout is a set of faces, that does not transport happiness, but a fragile sense of peace.
